Sydney is a writer and producer re-cultivating her Idaho roots in Brooklyn, NY. She is a formerly-shy middle child whose first job was a kids’ birthday party princess, which kickstarted her storytelling fascination with paradoxical identities and the relationship between circumstances and what you make of them. As a Type 1 diabetic, proud bonus parent and a partner to a touring musician, Sydney's strength is extracting the wicked humor in life’s hard truths and turning it into ripe comedic writing.

Starved, her debut as a writer-director, was nominated for “Best Original Story” at Cannes Shorts and won “Best Film” at the New York Short Film Festival. Her comedy pilot, Hidden Springs, has placed in numerous programs including 2nd in the Shore Films Pilot Competition. Sydney recently graduated from the 2026 Writers Guild of America East’s Support Staff Training program under the Script Coordinator track. When she’s not writing, Sydney spends her time worrying about how she’s not writing. She calms her angst by people-watching over an excessively buttered diner pancake.
